Filipino-Americans commemorate Bataan Death March in Alexandria, Virginia
Alexandria, VA — In a moving display of remembrance, unity, and cultural pride, the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP) recently brought together Filipino Americans and supporters for “Remembrances Along the River,” an event aimed at honoring veterans while reinforcing community ties across generations.
Held as part of FilVetREP’s ongoing advocacy and education efforts, the gathering served as both a tribute to Filipino World War II veterans and a living testament to the resilience of the Filipino American community. FilVetREP, a national nonprofit initiative, has spent more than a decade working to secure recognition for the more than 260,000 Filipino soldiers who served under the U.S. flag during World War II.
